Who are we?
Vinyl Vixens Mission: femme & non binary electronic music artists empowering & supporting each other.
The idea for Vinyl Vixens came about like so many other great ideas: over a pint in a beer garden.
It was early January 2016 when Miss Gabrielle, WaX FoX and some other lovers of EDM met up for a new year brew. Conversation turned to what they had done for New Years Eve and then to what they wanted to do differently in 2016. All said they wanted to DJ more, and then WaX FoX spoke of how she spent New Years Day going back to back to back with an all femme line up, setting the soundtrack for the new year. She spoke about how diverse and amazing it had been and how it had given her an idea....on that day, Vinyl Vixens became a vehicle to achieve our 2016 resolutions.
On the 8th of March, IWD 2016, we launched our collective, and the journey so far has been beyond our expectations. The gigs we've played, the parties we have curated, the budding talent we have supported, the Let's Talk About Decks series we presented and now, we come to you in 2023 with our next incredible teaching program: The DJ Incubator. 7 years in, and we are just getting started.
The DJ incubator is an all inclusive 6 week program here in Naarm, run by Vinyl Vixens in collaboration with the Sound Gallery.
This carefully curated course gives you;

The Vinyl Vixens DJ Collective acknowledges the Traditional owners of the stolen land we mix, create and dance on, the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung and Boonwurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Sovereignty has never been ceded.
